I thought I should start with "are we okay" before I got to "I have a plan that involves food" but as I type that out I realize that it was a ridiculous and truly uncharacteristic approach.

Are we okay, though? I'm tired of fighting. We could skip it this once.

I figured you would've brought up the plan involving food first, my mistake.

[ is he ribbing her? perhaps a little bit. but there's a slight pause, in which Kylo reads her text over and over again before starting on his own reply. "are we okay? can we skip the fighting?" he frowns, an uncomfortable comparison coming front to his mind.

I thought we were going to fight when you first contacted me. I was... counting on it, really.

I know. I thought texting was a better idea than waiting until we were within shouting range.

[ And stabbing range, for that matter. ]

I'm sorry you were hurt by the choice of partner. It wasn't my choice. We'll work out how to get it undone once things are more settled, if it matters that much to you. And in the meantime you can talk to Luke. He cares about you. I'm sure he doesn't want this to hurt you, either.

We're still able to argue over the text, but there is at least less of a chance of someone getting stabbed this way.

I know. That you didn't get to choose. I shouldn't have gotten angry with you over it.

It would make me happy to see the two of you at peace with one another. Trying is all I can ask for.

That is truly an accomplishment for me. I must be doing something right.
