Given the nature of Kylo's abilities in the Force, many of which include the ability to influence the mind of others or to probe their thoughts and memories, I would definitely appreciate if those who wish to interact with him in game could take a look here and leave me a comment. 

THE RUNDOWN

The FORCE is the mystical cosmic energy that binds the universe together and surrounds, some people are sensitive to it and able to harness it into power. Force users, are incredibly rare and few. If you know Star Wars, well you know. Kylo is an extremely adapt force user trained in both the light and dark side of the force but deals quite extensively in the later. 

WHAT THIS MEANS. 

So Kylo can use the force to acheive both mental and physical feats. 

POWERS

His particular skillset contains, but is not limited to:

Mind tricks/manipulation: The ability to influence someone else's mind. This one doesn't work on everyone, it is possible to withstand if you're another force user or have mental defenses in place.

Mind probe: Kylo can reach into someone's mind, and probe it for information or memories. The experience can be mildly unplesant or outright torture depending. Kylo is shown using it as an interrogation technique to draw information from Poe.. But when he tries to probe Rey's mind, he does not use  the same outright force so this depends. 

Premonitions: Being able to see things through the force via dream or touch. Visions are not 100% guaranteed to come to pass and there is no emotions or feelings associated with them, it's just seeing things. 

Telekenesis: Self explanatory! Being able to summon or move objects around with his mind.

Other: Knock someone out, rendering them unconcious, freeze an object (a blaster bolt) or person in place.

There are a few other instances of things that do not come to play until later on, such as the bond that he will later come to share with Rey in which they're able to see and talk to one another, touch and even pass objects into one another. It's what will later be known as a Force dyad, or a power like life itself.

History: This article is about the Jedi known as Kylo Ren. You may be looking for the pirate Kybo Ren. 

Personality:

Positive traits:

Determined: Kylo doesn't give up easily. In actuality, this can be both positive and negative, because he's extremely strong willed and will work for what he wants, and do whatever he can to get it. That being killing, mental mind manipulation, fighting and facing down foes or even standing up to his Master when he proposes to use Starkiller again. But it's also him not knowing when to give up - the fight with Rey and Finn in the forest, where instead of surrender, he continues to fight despite wavering and his injuries. 

Intelligent: Kylo has always had an inquisitive mind and a desire for knowledge of all things in the Force. During his time under his Uncle's teachings, Kylo - then Ben, accompanied his uncle on missions to retrieve Jedi and Sith artifacts and studied history. His hobby, when not buried in a book or practicing, was calligraphy. As an adult, he still chases after knowledge of Jedi and Sith lore. It's this same curiosity that draws him to the scavenger - Rey, when she unlocks her abilities, and has him offering to teach her what he knows of the force and how to hone her skills. An offer she very much does not accept. 

Honest: Kylo is very much an honest individual, he does not lie or coat things nicely ("you're nothing, you come from nothing"), which is a good and bad thing, good as he says what's on his mind and doesn't beat around the bush or lie. Without the use of the force to influence weaker minds, he probably would not be able to manipulate his way out of a paper bag, try as he might. 

Negative traits: 

Impulsive: And while it might be at slight odds with other things, Kylo is impulsive and not typically someone who will ask questions first and act later. He might be told to do one thing but if it's not what he wants to do or doesn't feel it will accomplish anything, he will do what he wants to and damn the consequences of said action, without giving much thought to as to what those consequences might actually be. Such as speaking or acting out against Snoke, an action that will more or less get him disciplined. 

Quick tempered/destructive: If there's one thing that Kylo is known for, its his vicious temper and how easy it is to anger him. Encouraged by Snoke to give into it rather than bottle it up, it often explodes into violent bouts of destruction that are legendary to other crew and First Order officers. It gives him the reputation of being little more than a child, but a dangerous one at that and many will go out of their way to avoid him when he's in one of his moods. After getting news of the droid he'd been seeking out, for example, the first thing he does is smash up a console with a lightsaber and pull the officer across the room with the Force by the neck. 

Conflicted: Underneath the very scary exterior of Kylo Ren is the lesser known part of him that he tries to hide. Kylo Ren was born as Ben Solo, to parents that loved him but didn't know how to deal with him as his power and proficiency in the force grew. He carries a great deal of anger towards them for many reasons, but when he sees his father again for the first time only moments before killing him, he had been ordered to finally do what needed to be done, to extinguish the light within him, he hesitates. He knows that he has to do it, but doesn't know if he can. And that's very much the case with him, he needs to finally embrace who he is completely as Kylo Ren before he can be free of conflict and pain. Rey is not wrong when she peeks into his mind and finds his fear, he is very much afraid - of not living up to the legacy of Darth Vader, of being called back to the light (failure). 

Powers/Abilities:  

- Ace pilot - Kylo has inherited his father's piloting skills and knowledge of spacecraft workings. 

- Combat - A very proficient fighter in combat and use of a lightsaber

Regret: Killing Han Solo, his father at the behest of Snoke.

Suitability: Kylo Ren is an extremely powerful force user, a trained fighter and pilot. While not particularly a team player, he is good to have around as someone who has less moral objections to dirtying his hands and using more brute force to accomplish any task that's required of him. Of course, with the knowledge that their aim is to undo the past and their regrets, he'll be more amendable to working alongside others.

Appearance: Kylo Ren is fucking tall. Standing at over 6 foot, perhaps appearing even larger because of the heavy layers of dark material he wears. His face is soft and sharp at the same time, angular cheekbones and prominent nose, a spotting of moles and marks. His eyes are brown and his black hair is long enough to cover his ears, which are a bit on the large side.

Personality: Kylo Ren, at a glance is a vicious man. And one would be right to think so. As a subordinate of Supreme Leader Snoke, he has been groomed and shaped as a commander within the First Order. His actions emulate that of his grandfather, Darth Vader, who terrorized the galaxy some thirty years before. Like Vader, Kylo wears a mask, but not to keep himself alive but to mask his true self. He embraces his power, using it to create fear amongst his enemies, to draw information from their minds, and to destroy those who step in his way. He is quick to anger, and quick to give into his raging tendencies. 

Born Ben Solo to Leia Organa and Han Solo, Ben was the son of war heroes. Already before he could walk he had a legacy and expectation to live up to, of which he comes to resent. Of which he tries to rid himself of. Snoke encourages this, fashioning a new name for his apprentice and encouraging him to kill his past, his father. As a child, Snoke was already preying on the young mind, furthering his doubts and creating conflict in his heart, anger towards his family. A troubled child, quiet, but studious. Under Luke he is a prized pupil, excelling in his studies, his raw power and technique. But he sees his parents sending him away as a sign that they were afraid of him, and his power. It is only furthered when his uncle has a moment where he intends to kill Ben in his sleep. 

He runs, believing that he can't go home to his family after he supposedly murdered his uncle. He runs to Snoke, and becomes the leader of the Knights of Ren. Ben Solo is dead. 

Under Snoke's tutelage, he becomes Kylo Ren. And though he is a mentor to Kylo, the man is cruel to him, mocking him for his heritage, and calling him weak -- his father's son. He punishes his failures with pain, as well as uses techniques that are questionable at best and painful at work to train him. He encourages Kylo's anger, and rage and forces him to quash any and all signs of the light within him, making the young man a mess of unstable emotions. It's safe to say that the relationship is an abusive one, and it takes many years for Kylo to kill him. 

His relationship with his subordinates is not much better, though he is the one at power here. Often using his force powers to punish failures by choking or flinging them with the force. Especially when it comes to his most hated general, Hux, who he despises and  the feeling is mutual. 

Under the mask there are still bits of Ben Solo, a frightened young man who Kylo was never able to destroy completely. Who objected to the use of Starkiller but never spoke out against it. It is Ben who feels when he murders his father, and it is Ben who understands Rey's loneliness, her fear... and is able to connect with her as they become bonded  through the force. Despite the fact that they are on opposite sides of the war and should be enemies, Kylo doesn't want to kill Rey, or see her harmed. On Starkiller, he is intrigued by her power, and even wants to teach her. The two are connected through the force in what they will later learn is a rare occurrence called a dyad. While she is training under Luke, the force connects them so that they are able to speak and see one another - at first Kylo goads her, but then reveals to her the night that Luke attacked him. After which, they are able to put all aside, and speak to one another, truly, Ben to Rey: that neither of them are alone.

However, the moment is ruined by Luke, and Rey leaves to find Ben, believing he is more Ben than Kylo and that she would bring him back. They'd both seen different things when they touched hands;  and he saw Rey standing at his side, so when she comes for him, he brings her straight to Snoke.

It is in part because of Rey that Kylo is able to kill Snoke, as his master calls for him to kill Rey. Masking his murderous intent with murderous intent, he makes it look like he is going to kill Rey, but turns the saber onto his former master instead. 

When Rey rejects his offer to join him and let the old things die, he's furious and feels betrayed. The two fight and Kylo is knocked out, coming to and pinning the blame for the Supreme Leader's death on her, before taking the title for himself. He's furious, and intends to destroy the Resistance -- however with the appearance of his uncle, he is distracted and turns everything he has to kill the man... only to find he'd been fooled, the Resistance had escaped and Rey closed the door on their connection. 

Edited 12/30/2022: Kylo is canon updated to the end of The Rise of Skywalker. While he still has some of the same traits, he's still got the temper and attitude but is less volatile and likely to murder you. Perhaps the most important part is that he is no longer the same lost and conflicted soul that he was, now going by Ben Solo, he has the hope that he didn't have. It's that hope that lead him to Exegol to stand and fight alongside Rey, even knowing that he might not make it back. It's that hope that brings him to finally know what he has to do, when he finds Rey dead. And he finally knows that he has the strength to do it. 

Weaknesses/Temptations:

- Emotional immaturity. Kylo is very much not emotionally secure, he has been pushed to embrace his anger and use it like a weapon by Snoke. He is prone to violent outbursts of destruction, to sometimes lash out on others or expensive equipment. Other emotions are seen to him as a weakness. 

- Conflicted nature. Called to the light, Kylo tries his damnest to quash the goodness in him, to rid himself of the man who he once was. He believes that the past is something to be destroyed, in order to become what one is meant to be. Hence his inability to embrace being Ben Solo again and returning with Rey to the Resistance base. In his quest, he has killed many -- including his own family, murdering his father and attempting to destroy Luke Skywalker. It is safe to say he will do anything he can in order to quell his conflict.


Sins: is "- Association with "The First Order", a group under Supreme Leader Snoke, Kylo is his apprentice. He is somewhat of Snoke's lackey, carrying out his orders with violence and death. Despite his misgivings about the use of a weapon that would wipe out five different planets, Kylo did not speak up and allowed it to happen. 

- The murder of Han Solo, his father. While it was to quell the conflict and the light that had been building inside of him, all it does is weaken him, mentally and physically. On this same note, his actions on the planet of Crait led to Luke Skywalker's death as the man used his remaining strength to reach Kylo and allow the Resistance to escape.

- Using his powers to torture, and harm. To draw information out of others. The use to scare others into submission, such as flinging them or choking. Breaking very expensive equipment, much to Hux's dismay. 


Powers/Abilities: Kylo Ren is a force user and a very powerful one at that, perhaps the strongest of his generation, save for his match in the light; Rey. 

Specialties in the force include telepathy, or mind tricks -- compulsion of others to bend to his will. Drawing information out of anyone he tries, this can either be painful or as harmless as he makes it. Kylo can move objects in the air, or freeze them in place. His non force abilities are that he is a proficient fighter and skilled with a lightsaber. 

Because of his raw strength and power, I am more than happy to tone his powers down. Kylo will not be pleased.
